From Abby: There Must Needs Be Transfers

This compiles March 17-23 :))))))
Currently its 8:27 AM and I've absolutely wasted my morning after a terrible nights sleep all because of TRANSFERS.
Yknow Cascade and Orchard? The two stakes i've been in for SIX MONTHS? Yes the time has come I have been booted, finally, to my second area (Pleasant Grove.. Which has been referred to as Punishment grove here in the Utah, Orem mission) and THIS area has been split in two and BOTH stakes are being white washed.
The amount of notes sister Atwood and I have to make is absolutey criminal.
All that being said lets recap this week.
Last Pday we went THRIFTING at Indy Clover which was a very poor choice for my wallet. LOVE thrifting as a missionary because anything too casual is emmediatly off the radar and a booth without dresses or skirts is rejected and neglected. Did that stop me from spending too much money? No.
We also baked as a district, upon arrival to the scene we discovered that some miscommunications went on and therefore no one brought oil or eggs..
We were in Elder Cease and Chapins area so they sent us to the closest non member home where we requested said eggs and Oil (Success.) Also pro to wearing proselyting clothing to the activity because Sister Atwood and I were the only ones who were able to go outside :)
Met this super sick couple whos dog was perfectly trained, Upon request as to how in the world it was done they responded with two youtuber dog trainers names which I will list here if it helps any soul (May be spelt incorrectly):

This week Sister Atwood and I went CRAZY tabbing books of mormon. We decided to get blank books of mormon and tab in them topics and scriptures we thought would be good for Alex and Chase (The girl we're teaching and her boyfriend). Its SO FUN to tab things I think I've gone a little crazy on mine :D The topics we picked were things like

This week Sister Atwood and I went CRAZY tabbing books of mormon. Hearts actually SHATTERING for them though since both sister Atwood and I are leaving.
This week Alex and Chase invited us out to lunch and we got permission to go outside of our area (Slay blackbear diner) As we ate they both opened up to us, Chase explained that he feels pressure while living in Utah and he always has but that we were the first missionaries to give him the desire to be closer to Jesus Christ. Both him and Alex expressed complete gratitude, they thanked us for our friendship and empathy.
Sister Atwood and I were SHOCKED. Seeing as both of us are pretty dang new, and Alex and Chase are both teenagers.. Its hard to get through. This is one of thoses moments in my mission where I realize who I was sent to specifically. From this I learn TWO THINGS
1) Not my will but thine.
GODS WILL FIRST. ALWAYS. When I first got in this area all I wanted was a huge teaching pool, If I had had that I NEVER would have been able to give the amount of effort, love, and attention that I was able to towards Chase and Alex. He knows better
2) I am a humble vessel.

The lord works best through those who are completely humble. Gods work will move forward regardless of our imperfections, when we rely on him it genuinly all works out in the end.
So crazy to hear things like that your whole life and when actually see it play out for yourself.
SISTER ATWOOD FINISHED MENTOR SESSIONS. I'm done doing second somp study after doing it for basically 24 weeks which feels somewhat freeing I won't lie. I genuinly cannot believe that I'm finished training sister Atwood and that she's like a little missionary functioning all by herself.. Is this what parenthood is like?

Like I mentioned last week her husband is Native americain and from the walla walla tribe and he gave her the name Wheeping Wind, His name was Quiet Bear etc.
Even though Louise isn't native americain she gave us each a name XD
Sister Atwoods is Willow because of her tall skiny brunette nature, Louise described her as steady and quiet, grounded.
The name she gave me is White Cloud
She said I make her think of those super bright white clouds that come in the summer that are always changing and moving. She also said because I was so pale XD
I love that lady and I'm going to miss her :(
On sunday we both spoke :o

the bishop over this ward (Orchard 4th) gave us the topic the DAY before so sister Atwood and I CRANKED out our talks like you wouldn't believe. Saturday night we wrote stake emails, wrote talks, brainstormed for a missionary presentation for the Orchard 7th ward and prepped for a Preach my Gospel Study with some missionaries to be in the Cascade 5th Ward
Despite our anxieties it all worked out in the end and we each felt the spirit as we spoke in church and shared with the youth our missionary experience.. Seed planting I suppose :)
We got to go to the temple this week!!!!!!!!!!!!
I wore a dress I thrifted that basically makes me feel like I'm wearing a nightgown which I think is an absolute score.
We did proxy baptisms and its SO FUN, I think i'm pretty good at being baptized not to flex or anything. Afterwards I forced sister Atwood into a ratty photoshoot outside in the cold. our hair was chlorinated and freezng by the strand but it was SO fun. Its so weird standing outside of a Utah temple, people are streaming in and out CONSTANTLY and asking us "Where are you going on your mission!!" and we're like "Here!" etc :)
Joined an awkward young womens activity where we entered the room and they gave us a little table in the corner with watercolour paper and paint and then we just quietly painted away from all the YW XD We made some awesome cards so... Win?
Friday and saturday were COMPLETELY open for proselyting which Sister Atwood and I LOVE. We get into deep conversation and joking mode and its always the best.

One of the things I really laughed at this time was we joked about knocking a door to the same beat as the song "We are young" and started singing "Give me a second I, I need to get my story straight.." We were LAUGHING

Sister Atwood and I were biking by Cascade park when we hear a little voice in the distance
"SISTER MISSIONARIES! SISTER MISSIONARIES!!" We stop our bikes and we look over to see Taylor (Chases younger brother) Running over and waving his arms and yelling XD We're like "Taylor?!" He yells as he runs up "You should share a stripture!!" And Taylors little friendgroup rounds the corner gradually making thier way towards us?! It was the most precious thing EVER. I'll put a picture at the bottom you MUST see.
They asked for a scripture that Gave Aura so obviously we flipped open to Helaman and shared how the sons of Mosiah stood in the midst of the burning flames. Taylors friends were Taj, Crew, and Michael. What a friend group.
It feels so good to laugh :) (Its always less funny when I retype but I promise you it was hilarious in the moment)
