From Abby - Do you have your room key ... ?

Hello all!!
The current item of worry on my mind is the fact that today is the LAST day at the MTC. Well, the last full day. Tomorrow Sister Christiansen and I board a shuttle and probably drive for less than an hour :D

HOW to break don this week, I have my very filled journal in front of me trying to pick and pull the best moments for all of you, and of course future me.

A COUPLE STORIES ABOUT SISTER HENRIE (Love you Sister Henrie)
At one point last week Sister Gilbert reappeared in the group after being gone for like 20 minutes and we were like "Where did you go?" and she was like "I needed a pencil!" and we were like "You could have told us we all have pencils, why didn't you tell anybody?" her response? "I told Sister Henrie!" Sister Henrie *Smiles quietly* DIDN'T TELL ANYONE

The day after last Pday I had been complaining the whole two days about not having an SD card reader to get all my photos onto my album, I even bought what I thought was an SD card reader which was a royal fail, I honestly probably complained much too much it was very well known that people were curious as to when I was going to upload photos and very well known that I didn't have an SD card reader. ANYWAYS tuesday night I'm ranting about it to all the girls in my district in the dorm and we're all chatting and then i hear a Tiiiinnnnnny voice say "I have one" and I was like "You have one what?" to Sister Henrie and she WHIPS OUT AN SD CARD READER GIRL- anyways I ended up not needing one because I mentioned to Steph my wonderful darling sister this whole rant last Pday and then she straight up sent me one because she's the most wonderful human ever and now I have an SD card reader of my own :) but it was so funny

On Thursday Sister Christiansen stopped at the dorm to grab study stuff before class at 6:00, She brushed her teeth and retainers and such while I used the washroom ETC, I went back to the room really fast to grab something and as i confidently swung my body weight into the door as I turned the handle i was met with a VERY locked door, with our phones keys keycards study stuff etc... All we had to our name was Sister Christiansen's toothpaste, toothbrush and retainers. I sauntered back into the bathroom and said "..Do you have a key?" and she turns and says "...no?" AHH
At this point it's 5:45 and we have 15 minutes to RUN to the T4 building and grab one of the Sisters Key, and keycard, and run back, preferably a Sister who wouldn't make a big deal because... Elders, and teasing :D
From my Journal: "Everyone was watching videos before class so it was dim and I snuck STRAIGHT to Sister Henrie looking into her quiet eyes knowing she wouldn't tell a soul. I laughed and whispered into her ear "We just locked ourselves out can we steal a card and key?" When I told her she giggled quietly to herself and pulled out the things we needed" we Did make it to class on time and after class when we went on a short district walk at like 9:15  and i saunter beside sister Henrie and ask her if she told anyone half expecting that she would have because its silly, and she looks at me with an air of 'You should know this' "No." I LOVE SISTER HENRIE, I'm so glad she's Canadian and I'll see her again.

SO many highlights,
a whole new wave of 500 missionaries came In on Wednesday and we were able to help them get to their dorms, It was HEARTBREAKING watching them hug their families and younger siblings and grandparents and crying. I WAS CRYING TOO. Anyways, the 3 girls I helped walk to their dorm ALL had the farthest dorm R1 (I'm in R9) and only R9 has an elevator, i got the workout of my life carrying these 40 pound suitcases up 3 flights of stairs. I'm glad the Sisters were having fun meeting their district but i've never done that much heavy lifting in a dress :D It was lovely to welcome them. I feel a little experienced, which is crazy.

On Thursday Sister Hanbrow (Teacher) invited us to leave class in companionships and go share scriptures with other companionships etc, We approached these elders and shared a quick message and as we started walking away they were like "Wait! Can we also share a message with you?" and we were like "YEAH" and they proceeded to share a message in SAMOAN? IT WAS SO COOL, one companion spoke in samoan and the other translated and it was SICK. Language speaking missionaries are so cool. That happened AGAIN like a day later with Chinese speaking missionaries that came up to us while we were studying.
Our district post temple trip (Which i'll talk about later) sat beside this missionary who was working in his Book of Mormon and beside him was his companion doing this CRAZY good ASL to his phone (I think he was practising translating or something? *Shrugs* anyways we started talking to this Elder who's also ASL speaking who's from Gilbert Arizona and we all started asking him what words would be what hand signs and it was SO COOL. We also asked him extensive questions about how the temple sessions work for people who can't hear the actual video and he was very patient answering all our questions, come to find out his companion is deaf and he's been at the MTC for like 6 weeks... Again LANGUAGE LEARNING MISSIONARIES ARE SO COOL (Shoutout Megan)

On Friday we had our last chance to go to the temple while at the MTC as a district and we did family sealings, I got the chance to do 9 family names (Shoutout Tyler for helping me print them before I got to the MTC, and Sister Christiansen for doing some for me) Anyways at one point Sister Henrie had names for Sisters so her and her companion Sister Olsen Proxy sealed these sisters: As the ordinance was being performed and as i looked at Sister Henrie and Sister Olsen smiling faces as they looked into eachothers eyes while the powerful voice of a worthy priesthood holder I felt overwhelming gratitude for the power of the priesthood and the restored church.  Overwhelming joy that families can be together FOREVER. I felt so much joy that I am sealed to my family forever, and that by covenant the lord has prepared a way for all of his children to receive everlasting joy. I def was crying in the corner of the temple but its fine.

I'll share one more story of this week
Our district was assigned Friday evening for food prep help for dinner
at 4:20 we started our food shift. All we had to do was seperate pizza slices and pop the boxes up so they could be grabbed and put out for people. We put on silly little hairnets, plastic aprons and plastic gloves (Very silly looking)
the Elders in our district were HYPE. They organized this entire system and we absolutely slayed those pizzas. we slayed them so hard that the supervisor lady said "I think thats a new record" and proceeded to lead us to the BACK rooms of the MTC cafeteria, we entered this dish pit metal walls with pipes and such, it was a decently large room with very tall ceilings... in the corner was like 6 workers? they were all working away ignoring our existence and working busily and efficiently, our task was to hose out and scrub these three big metal fridges? With steel wool and soap, as sister Henrie and I were scrubbing away with our silly little outfits on top of our skirts and docs, and suddenly we hear this strange music... At first we thought it was like the outcome of a giant dishwasher and it just sounded like music but NO it had this Cadance and drum and melodie that definitely couldn't have been a dishwasher... but it wasn't quite music. The best I can describe is Alien Abduction, Strangeville, Spirited Away Synthy Dystopian music, I hope that sums it up for you. Anyways this music is playing and i'm wearing this silly outfit and there's a bunch of RANDOM workers buzzing around and beside us as if everything is normal and im scrubbing this Giant metal something in this weird backroom with pipes and I DON'T KNOW it felt like an entire fever dream.
I looked at sister Henrie and said "What is happening??!" and she says "I DON'T KNOW" and we continue scrubbing to this STRANGE music.
Suddenly a worker appears in front of us and starts explaining what the music is apparently its by this Guy called Colin statson (I don't think thats spelt right)
someone please find that artist for me I can't look his up and I need to know

There's a million other things to say and I've literally been typing for like an entire hour while sister Christiansen is talking to her family.
I'll just share some quotes from this week:

"Everytime I see a grasshopper... They're not in the grass. What's with that ๐Ÿคจ"
-Sister Christiansen

"Sometimes Jesus says stuff and I'm like: 'Bars." -Sister Christiansen

"Homeslice, You had a Devil in you." -Sister Gilbert

"Giggles is the best way to end the night :)" -Sister Henrie

"Sister Smith and taking less notes?! I Don't think those two sentences go together!"
-Sister Christiansen

"I think about toes a lot.." -Sister Olsen"

"I'm a monster on the inside." "EVIL ELDER CONE" -Elder Cone playing card games.

And the Elders are the sweetest, they always give us seats whether that be at lunch outside in the cafeteria or in the bus. Elder Grover and I are the people who always volunteer to pray or read a scripture and we always have to mentally communicate or make eye contact to see how long the other can wait giving other people the chance  XD he's a very sweet soul along with all the Elders, out district reviews and walks as a district after class are the best.

I feel as though I have ranted adequately, kudos if you have made it to the end
I'll attach my google photos album every once in a while for photo updates
